About Me

Welcome to my Portfolio!

My name is Camila Medina and I am currently pursuing a Masters in Public Health at the University of West Florida (UWF). I am originally from Ecuador,  and came to the United States when I was 12 years old. Medicine and Healthcare have always been my passion, and that is why I got my Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences at UWF. I have experience working at different medical settings such as: retail pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, medical offices, free clinics, and conducting research at Assisted Living Facilities. All these different experiences, including my different cultural background, have allow me to understand how healthcare works and how much of an impact healthcare makes on people's lives all around the world. My career goal is to be able to work for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and work in global health prevention and education of noncommunicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension. This website contains my resume, my presentations, my philosophy, my goals, and more.

My Philosophy

Let's not focus on alleviating symptoms, but on changing the systems that caused them.
